Addressing a massive demonstration in celebration of the 46th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Tehran on Monday, Pezeshkian said, The enemies claim that Iran has been weakened and that now is the best time to strike at this revolution and establishment. They are oblivious to the fact that, with the wise guidance of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution and the unwavering presence of the vigilant and self-sacrificing nation, all these dreams will be buried."
The president argued that the nations victory in 1979 was rooted in the participation and unity of the people, which effectively curtailed the interference of oppressors and foreign powers, his official website reported.
The adversaries have employed various tactics against the Islamic Republic over the years, including the assassination of officials, coup attempts, the 1980-1988 war, the imposition of sanctions, and now the efforts to discourage the populace, the president noted, adding that all of the hostile plots have been foiled.
The Islamic Republic and its Leader stand resolutely against bullying powers, the president asserted, adding, "With the guidance of our esteemed Leader, we are committed to countering all conspiracies aimed at discouraging the people of Iran and creating division among them."
He then referred to US President Donald Trumps stance towards Iran, highlighting how Trump professes a desire to negotiate while simultaneously endorsing plots against the Islamic nation.
The US has a long history of imposing sanctions that restrict Iranians access to essential medications, food and water, all while claiming to seek negotiations, he added.
Pezeshkian said the US president claims that Iran disrupts stability in the region, but it is the Zionist regime, backed by the US, that bombs Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, and Palestine.
While the US president claims to pursue peace and tranquility, he supports those criminals, who have been condemned by the International Criminal Court in The Hague, Pezeshkian stated.
As to the propaganda campaign against Iran, the president said the Islamic Republic aims to strengthen brotherly ties with the neighboring countries.
He emphasized that the Iranian authorities understand that conflict does not lead to development. However, the enemies do not want to see Iran enjoying peace and progress; thus, they devise plots to incite discord among Muslim nations, he stated.
