New Delhi [India], February 12 (ANI): CPI MP Sandosh Kumar on Wednesday criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Paris for the 14th India-France CEOs Forum, stating that it was 'not the right time' for such a visit.

He expressed concerns about the state of India's economy, stating that the economy was in 'crisis' and that the country's external and internal debt was increasing rapidly.

'This is not the right time. I think the economy is in crisis. India's external and internal debt is galloping like anything... Within five years, the economy is in more crisis, and the fiscal deficit has increased. GDP has also increased,' the CPI MP said.

PM Modi is currently on a visit to France from February 10-12, where he co-chaired the AI Action Summit with French President Emmanuel Macron in Paris on Tuesday.

During his address at the CEOs Forum in Paris, PM Modi invited French businesses to deepen their partnership with India and highlighted the series of economic reforms introduced in the recent budget, emphasising their potential to boost investments and enhance the ease of doing business.

Meanwhile, Kumar also spoke on the recent meeting of Delhi BJP MLAs with BJP President JP Nadda, calling the BJP a party of 'power mongers.'

He claimed that after one or two years, the BJP would be a group of dissidents only and that it was a temporary adjustment for most of them since they were in power and leaders were powerful.

'BJP is a party of power mongers, and they are not visible because of the leadership, so-called 'Iron Hand leadership'. After one or two years, it will be a group of dissidents only...It's a temporary adjustment for most of them since they are in power and leaders are powerful,' the CPI MP added.

On Tuesday, after winning the elections in Delhi, many newly elected MLAs of BJP paid a courtesy call to party national president JP Nadda in the Parliament.

The BJP MLAs included Anil Sharma, Shikha Roy, Satish Upadhyay, Arvinder Singh Lovely, Vijendra Gupta, Ajay Mahawar, Rekha Gupta, Kapil Mishra, Kulwant Rana and Anil Goyal. (ANI)
