The Cleveland Guardians added right-hander Jakob Junis on Sunday with a one-year, $4.5 million deal.
Junis, 32, was a combined 4-0 with a career-best 2.69 ERA in 24 appearances (six starts) with the Milwaukee Brewers and Cincinnati Reds last season. He missed time because of a shoulder injury, as well as a freak incident when he was hit in the neck by a fly ball during batting practice.
In eight seasons with the Kansas City Royals (2017-21) San Francisco Giants (2022-23), Brewers and Reds, Junis is 42-45 with a 4.48 ERA in 192 appearances (116 starts).
