BEIJING, Feb. 18 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Monday sent a congratulatory message to Marc Ati on his assuming office as minister of foreign affairs, international cooperation and external trade of the Republic of Vanuatu.
Wang, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, said that China and Vanuatu are good friends, good brothers and good partners who share weal and woe.
Under the strategic guidance of the leaders of both countries, Wang said, China-Vanuatu relations have continued to develop with deepening political mutual trust, fruitful practical cooperation, and expanding people-to-people and cultural exchanges, which have improved the well-being of both peoples and contributed to regional stability, development and prosperity.
Noting that China attaches great importance to developing China-Vanuatu relations, Wang said that China is willing to work with Vanuatu to deepen dialogue and communication, enhance practical cooperation in various fields, and strengthen coordination and cooperation in international and regional affairs, so as to continuously elevate their comprehensive strategic partnership to higher levels, and build a China-Vanuatu community with a shared future in the new era.
