FedNor funding will help support growth in Indigenous communities across the region
February 11, 2025 - Thunder Bay, ON - Federal Economic Development Agency for Northern Ontario - FedNor
The Honourable Patty Hajdu, Minister of Indigenous Services and Minister responsible for FedNor, today announced Government of Canada investments totalling $2,665,565 in seven strategic initiatives led by and in support of Indigenous communities and organizations in Northwestern Ontario.
These investments will support continued economic growth and the development of new opportunities in Indigenous communities throughout Northwestern Ontario. These initiatives will enhance the ability of First Nations communities to lead and benefit from business development within their traditional territories.
Specifically, the projects include the delivery of several critical plans and strategies, the hiring of skilled professionals including economic development officers and business managers, as well as the construction of new facilities and infrastructure and the acquisition of new equipment.
